World Music Festival

Planned for Memorial Day weekend of 2007 to tie-in with the re-enactment of the Godspeed celebration, this affair will be a celebration of Old World and New World music that has shaped American culture, since its beginning in 1607.

Musicians and artists from throughout the nation, world and Commonwealth will perform different musical genres at various venues in Richmond, Chesterfield, Hanover and Henrico to celebrate the Richmond RegionВ’s 400th anniversary. Music genres featured will include blues, bluegrass, country, contemporary and traditional jazz, gospel, R&B, spoken word, hip hop, Caribbean, Classical, Zydeco, and much more.
