A replica of the Godspeed, the three-masted merchant ship that, along with the Susan Constant and Discovery, transported 143 В“adventurersВ” and crew to Virginia in 1607, will return to the James River in Richmond В– 400 years to the day that Captain Christopher Newport first touched down here.
The historic reenactment at Rocketts Landing on May 24, 2007 is part of a wide-ranging array of commemoration activities that will take place in the Richmond Region.
